The story begins with Sayali scolding Dilip for something. Her dad then asks Dilip where he had been. Dilip argues with his dad, saying all his friends have bikes and asks if he can have one too. Shubha, presumably another family member, slaps Dilip and tells him to behave. Juhi, another family member, tells Dilip he always complains and has a problem with his life. Dilip agrees, saying he can’t stand living a poor life. Sayali tries to calm him down and asks if he fought with anyone on the train. Dilip denies it but expresses his dislike for traveling in local trains. His dad tells him to take Sayali’s cycle instead. Dilip protests, feeling embarrassed to ride a cycle when even the college peon has a bike.
He feels being born into their family is a punishment. His dad becomes emotional, telling Sayali not to do too much for the family and to think for herself. Dilip sarcastically applauds his dad for making him the villain, accusing him of being the real villain. Sayali urges him to apologize to their dad. Dilip’s dad admits he couldn’t do much for the family and reveals he has mortgaged their jewelry. He apologizes to Dilip and leaves the food. Shubha scolds Dilip and beats him before leaving. Dilip feels unlucky but resolves to change his fate by buying a bike and leaving the house, leaving Sayali in tears.
In another scene, Sachin covers Paresh with a shawl, calling him his superhero and presenting him with an award. They return home, and Sachin asks Renu to welcome Paresh, but she refuses, feeling insulted. Despite her refusal, Sachin insists on welcoming Paresh, performing aarti for him, and expressing appreciation for his actions. Paresh notices Renu’s unhappiness and leaves the award, praying silently.
Later, Sachin and others try to cheer up Paresh, but Tejas warns him of potential consequences, suggesting that Joy could stop their provident funds and pension cheques. Sachin expresses anger towards Tejas and accuses him of wanting the money.
