**Scene 1**
Shanti: Lakshmi is really pushing the boundaries today. Did you hear her singing on stage?
Mangal: Lakshmi really came through for Karthik today.
Shanti: She’s quite cunning, always sticking close to Karthik.
Maya: I’ll call you later today, Mangal.
Lakshmi: Who was that, Mangal?
Mangal: So many good things happened today.
Kusum: Gaitri, don’t let that girl linger around Karthik. She’s too clever. I fear she might ensnare him and marry him. Before that happens, let’s get Karthik married to a girl of our choosing.
Gaitri: I haven’t found a girl who matches Karthik’s qualities yet.
Kusum: There’s one girl who fits perfectly—our Lakshmi. She’s a wonderful girl. She proved her worth today by saving Karthik’s reputation. She’s talented and could be Karthik’s ideal partner.
