Surya tries Imlie’s sambar and says something’s missing. Imlie asks what he wants. Surya clarifies he meant tamarind. The maid tells him it’s time to cut a cake. Anjali, Malti, and Nirmala come back home and remember Raghu telling them about Surya’s enemies mistaking Agastya for him and killing him. They feel guilty and notice the birthday decorations. Indira sees a cake with Agastya’s name and gets angry. Anjali decides to talk to Surya.
Nirmala calls Surya to cut the cake. He writes Agastya’s name with his own on the cake. Indira gets mad at Imlie for influencing Surya. Surya explains that Agastya was not only Imlie’s ex-husband but also his twin brother who looked just like him. Indira asks him to cut the cake. Surya feeds Imlie.
Nirmala tells Anjali that Surya is overly attentive to Imlie because of guilt. Surya asks Anjali what she wanted to say. Anjali shows him Raghu’s bail papers.
