The episode begins with Shivani saying she doesn’t want to go to Kuldevi, preferring to stay home and rest. Mama ji suggests she think of a big excuse. Sumedh offers to take her to her maternal home after the Kuldevi Darshan. He helps her organize her clothes and she asks about the tea packets in the cupboard. Sumedh, declaring tea as his lifeline, assures her she can ask for anything she needs. Shivani then confides in him about her mother’s murder and her determination to become a police officer to catch the killer.
Kesar enters the room, and Rukmani shares her past struggle of being falsely blamed, losing her uniform, and being quickly married off by her family. She pleads for support in achieving her dream from Shivani, who is educated and understands the pain of a shattered dream. However, Shivani doesn’t notice her and Sumedh goes to help Kesar instead.
Kesar, having twisted her foot, asks Sumedh to take some things to Rukmani and ensure she wears the auspicious gathbandhan. Mama ji urges Sumedh to hurry up, and he leaves, apologizing to Shivani for not hearing her words earlier due to Kesar’s fall. Kesar instructs Shivani to take care of the jewelry, while Mama ji tells Kesar to take the jewelry boxes with them. Meanwhile, Rukmani prays before putting on the gathbandhan, and spots Sumedh at the tea stall, though she doesn’t see his face. As the family prepares to leave for Kuldevi Darshan, Kesar instructs Shivani to stay home and look after things. Kareena wonders how they will fit in one car, but Kesar insists they’ll manage comfortably, stating they’ve rented the car and will follow their own rules. Rukmani ends up sitting on Sumedh’s lap due to lack of space.
On their journey, the driver stops the car, jokingly pointing out police officers and teasing about overloading. Kesar instructs Rukmani and Sumedh to get down and walk past the checkpost to avoid a fine. Rukmani hesitates, pointing out they would be breaking the law.
