Scene 1:
Ashok searches for Pawan and eventually finds him. He inquires about Pawan’s intentions, to which Pawan reveals his plan to depart, citing the conclusion of his time there. Expressing their friendship, Ashok apologizes for his past anger and urges Pawan to forgive him. However, Pawan, unmoved, proceeds to ignite an herb, trapping Ashok in the room before departing. Locked in, Ashok pleads for release as Pawan exits. Discovering the burning herb, Ashok’s expression turns grim.
Meanwhile, Pawan approaches Anandi, asking if she’ll accompany him. Anandi, however, insists on speaking to Ashok first, citing his upcoming throne ceremony. Despite Pawan’s insistence, Anandi flees.
Elsewhere, Kaurwaki searches for Ashok. Upon encountering Anandi, she learns of Pawan’s attempt to coerce her to leave, hinting at impending destruction. Urging Anandi to go to Pawan’s aid, Kaurwaki vows to safeguard Ashok.
Back at the palace, anticipation builds for Ashok’s ceremony. Sushim ominously predicts it as Ashok’s final day. Meanwhile, Devi checks on Ashok’s whereabouts.
Kaurwaki stumbles upon Ashok unconscious in a smoke-filled room. After bringing him to consciousness, she implores him to wake, reminding him of his strength. Administering CPR, she successfully revives him, only to feel the effects of her actions. As Ashok awakens, he consumes medicine provided by Chanakya. Kaurwaki, overcome with emotion, confesses her attempt on his life, prompting Ashok’s confusion. Devi intervenes, questioning Kaurwaki’s actions, as Ashok, feigning ignorance, expresses eagerness for the throne. After dismissing Kaurwaki’s involvement, Ashok departs with Devi. Anandi and Pawan arrive, questioning Kaurwaki’s deceit. Kaurwaki justifies her actions, emphasizing her desire to spare Ashok’s feelings. Realizing his error, Pawan resolves to rectify the situation, while Kaurwaki sets out to restore Ashok’s trust.
Scene 2:
In the palace lounge, Ashok enters with Devi, inciting Sushim’s ire. Helena advises Sushim to remain composed, acknowledging the inevitability of the ceremony. Taking his place on the throne, Ashok undergoes the rituals, adorned with regal attire. Helena presents his turban, amidst chants hailing him as king. Kaurwaki makes a discreet entrance, observed by an enraged Sushim. Ashok, mindful of Kaurwaki’s betrayal, accepts the king’s sword, much to Sushim’s disdain. Helena praises Ashok’s ascension, hinting at his forthcoming reign as the definitive king. Devi exercises her authority, decreeing Kaurwaki as her lifelong servant, endorsed by Ashok. Though Dharma protests, Ashok stands by Devi’s decision, expressing pride in her. As Chanakya arrives, he announces Bindusar’s desire to see Ashok. Receiving the news, Ashok rushes to meet his father, leaving the onlookers stunned and Kaurwaki beaming with satisfaction.
