Scene 1
Bindusar is praying in the jungle when a snake appears. He orders his soldiers to kill it, but they are too afraid. A man arrives and reveals he can control the snake. He hypnotizes the snake, and it slithers away silently. Impressed, Bindusar asks how he managed to control the venomous creature. The man explains his skills but mentions he is jobless. Bindusar is grateful and appoints him as his private soldier. As Bindusar leaves with his caravan, the man reveals his sinister intentions to his gang. He explains they’ve been tasked with killing Bindusar, despite him saving Bindusar’s life to gain his trust.
Meanwhile, Kaurwaki recalls planning to sedate Ashok on their wedding night. She spikes his milk with sleeping pills and leaves it in his room, intending to avoid him. Ashok, thinking the milk is from Devi, drinks it. Kaurwaki hides in her room, expecting Ashok to fall asleep. However, Ashok remains awake and confronts her. Devi, observing their interaction, realizes Kaurwaki’s deceit and plans revenge. She orders her servants to set fire to Kaurwaki’s room.
Ashok confronts Kaurwaki about her failed plan, but he unexpectedly falls asleep due to the sleeping pills. Kaurwaki tries to leave, but Ashok grabs her. Devi witnesses their struggle from afar and vows retribution against Kaurwaki. As Kaurwaki tries to flee with Udit, she discovers Devi’s arson. Worried for Ashok and the family’s safety, Kaurwaki decides to rescue them.
In the burning house, Kaurwaki finds Devi unconscious and wakes her up. Devi panics but Kaurwaki assures her safety and advises her to escape. Meanwhile, Kaurwaki finds Ashok unconscious amidst the flames and bravely carries him to safety. Devi, realizing Kaurwaki’s heroism, assists her in rescuing Ashok. Outside, Dharma and Anandi await their return, fearing for their safety.
Scene 2
Inside the burning house, Devi locates Ashok and plans to save him to win his affection. However, a log falls on her, rendering her unconscious. Outside, Dharma and Anandi worry about Devi and Ashok’s safety. Kaurwaki realizes Ashok may be in danger due to the sleeping pills and decides to search for him.
Kaurwaki enters the burning house and finds Devi, who awakens and pleads for help. Kaurwaki instructs her to escape through the back door while she tries to rescue Ashok. Devi flees, leaving Kaurwaki to save Ashok. Despite the danger, Kaurwaki bravely retrieves Ashok from the flames, expressing her hatred for him but saving him nonetheless.
Outside, Devi regrets her actions and prays for Ashok’s safety. Kaurwaki emerges from the burning house with Ashok, assisted by Devi. Dharma pleads for Ashok to wake up, and Devi acknowledges Kaurwaki’s bravery, predicting Ashok will appreciate her efforts. Perplexed, Kaurwaki wonders about Devi’s statement.
